Here at Caring Hands Dental, we are proud to offer braces for our patients.
Braces are often used to straighten teeth. They can also be used to help correct misaligned bites, including both under and overbites.
When determining the best course of action to fix your smile, one of our dentists will do a thorough examination, along with x-rays and possibly pictures of your face. We will then decide what type of braces would work best for you.
Braces consist of bands and wires. Depending on your needs, you may require other corrective appliances. They work by applying pressure on your teeth and gums to move your teeth into the right position. Your mouth will need to be monitored closely and there are times when your braces may need to be adjusted to ensure that they are working the way that they are supposed to.
You will have to brush your teeth often when you have braces so that food and other particles do not get stuck in your braces. Flossing is still necessary. You may also find out that it is important to stay away from certain foods that are difficult to eat.
If you have any questions about braces or would like to schedule an appointment to see if you need them, don’t hesitate to contact us today at (206) 242-4961.
